Andrew Davies.
Andrew Davies has been designing gardens across Sydney for more than forty years — the north shore, the coast, the eastern suburbs, and the occasional homestead a long way further out.
Every project begins as a drawing. Not a render — a marker perspective on paper, drawn by hand and signed, worked over until the levels, the materials and the planting all agree with each other.
It is slower than a computer, and it is the part of the job he cares most about. The detail is the work: where a step lands, how a wall meets the ground, which way you turn when you reach the top.

Concepts are drawn by hand. Once the design is settled it moves into CAD, for the documentation and construction drawings the job is actually built from.
